📰 TL;DR - According to a recent survey by Monetizr of over 207k mobile gamers, 43% are Boomers or Gen X. Some additional interesting stats:

  • While around 40% of gamers are Gen Z & younger, just 17% are millennials

  • 51% of mobile gamers are female

  • 60% of gamers confessed to spending 2-4 hrs/day gaming

  • ~50% felt that ad placement didn’t significantly disrupt their gaming experience

  • 45% were open to engaging with in-game ads that offered real-world rewards or discounts

💡 Insight - If you’re looking to target older audiences and female audiences, consider advertising on mobile games. The data doesn’t lie, it’s a pretty strong and open-minded cohort to advertise to.

Even better, if you’re advertising on these platforms, make your ads part of the experience. Get creative. Offer real-world incentives.

And if you’re not in the market for these audiences, let this stand as a reminder to never assume. Always dig into the data and listen to what it has to say. It might surprise you.
