💡 Today’s Insight 💡

🗞 TL;DR - Influencer marketing is a great way to attract audiences and lean on content creators with loyal audiences to promote your product – especially for your holiday campaigns. But influencer campaigns are also bound by FTC guidelines and platform regulations that need to be adhered to. Sprout Social has the overview on everything you need to know about influencer guidelines and regulations – and we’ve got the full recap for you.

💡 Insight - Here are the key do’s and don’ts of influencer brand partnerships…

DO: Be crystal clear. If an influencer receives a product for free, discount, or any other benefit, they must disclose it regardless of how genuine their review is.

DON’T: Assume an influencer’s followers already know about brand affiliations.

DO: Place disclosures up front with the endorsement message where followers will immediately see it.

DON’T: Hide disclosures in a place that requires extra clicks (like a profile) or mix it with other hashtags where audiences might miss it.

DO: Keep it simple. Use direct language like ‘Thanks to [brand] for the free product’ or hashtags like #ad or #sponsored.

DON’T: Use vague terms or unclear abbreviations like ‘sp,’ ‘spon,’ or ‘collab.’
