Today’s Insight

📰 TL;DR - Instagram added a close friends feature that lets you limit your post to, well, just your closest friends. That includes Stories, Notes, Posts, and Reels.

But it’s not just a feature your everyday user can take advantage of. It’s a perfect tool for businesses to stand out and activate their biggest fans.

💡 Insight - Find your biggest fans. Let users self-select into this category and identify themselves as your top supporters. Incentivize them by offering up an invite to your exclusive close friend’s crew.

Use the close friends feature to highlight exclusive offers, behind-the-scenes content, or new products before they’re public. Think of it as an easy-to-access dedicated audience. They feel special because they get things others don’t, and you’re able to easily send them unique opportunities.

Get feedback fast. Not only can you give back to your dedicated audience this way, but you can also learn a lot from their feedback. Run polls, test content, and ask your biggest fans questions through posts targeted only to this Close Friends cohort.
