Marketing’s top news, tips, & tools of the day

⚡️
Talk of the Town

  • Bloomberg reviewed 49 websites that were found to be proliferated entirely by AI chatbots including posing as breaking news and lifestyle sites with generic-sounding names.

  • None of them disclose they’re populated using AI chatbots and many created false stories for published pieces, like one incorrectly reporting the death of sitting presidents.

  • Takeaway: We’re entering into a time where content online is getting harder and harder to validate. While the news on these sites may seem ridiculous, as tech advances, it may not be as easy to discern the real from the AI-generated. Publish content responsibly.

  • Late night programming are expected to be the earliest affected with reality programming coming next. Experts believe that the impact on media spend should be small slow, but the longer the strike lasts, the more repercussions on ad spend.

  • Takeaway: If you’re buying these ads, don’t pull the fire alarm yet on your programming. Regardless of how long the strike lasts, the burn will be slow and we’ll most likely see warning signs before it’s totally time to jump ship.
