Marketing’s top news, tips, & tools of the day
🚀
Today’s Growth Tip
The company is moving their marketing strategy away from their premium Peloton exclusive hardware (the bike, tread, and rower) towards their digital app which can be used on desktop and mobile devices.
The move is in part an attempt to change the perception away from their high-end image and amidst dropping revenue for the company coming out of the pandemic.
Make it yours: Don’t be stubborn, admit when you need to try something new. If your team has been hammering down on one strategy for awhile and it still doesn’t seem to be pulling returns, take this as an opportunity to pivot towards a fresh perspective.

Talk of the Town
What a mess… several blue checkmarked accounts with over a million followers retweeted the image which only added credibility to the hoax. Elon Musk is hoping to address concerns via the increased use of Community Notes, a feature that allows users to fact-check information and ideally combat this new confusing world of Twitter Blue verification.
Takeaway: Until Twitter comes up with a solution to fix misinformation from easily spreading, seems best to take every tweet with a grain of salt. And definitely, definitely don’t repost anything from a brand account without fact checking it first.
We all knew this was coming but TikTok officially filed their lawsuit on Monday stating that “Montana’s ban abridges freedom of speech in violation of the First Amendment” and the U.S. Constitution. TikTok also disputes the allegations that the Chinese government could access data about TikTok users.
Takeaway: As more states (and the U.S. as a whole) consider banning TikTok, we’re going to get more of these back and forth legal battles. Brands, you do you, but important to remember that if these bans go into effect, it won’t be until early 2024.
