🗞 TL;DR - Short answer, yes. Longer answer, maybe not as much as it used to be. Google is constantly making updates to the algorithm, which makes it hard to create a sure-fire strategy for ranking. Content is everywhere, with consumption habits changing rapidly. And AI adds even more chaos to the mix.
💡 Insight - Marketing leader Kevan Lee outlined some tips in his latest newsletter. He suggests considering strategy vs. execution. There’s a big difference between having an SEO-driven strategy and having a content team thinking about SEO.
Consider your company's needs. If you’re more focused on using AI to generate content or create programmatic content, an SEO strategy might not fit your needs. This may lend itself better to SEO tweaks, like including high-ranking keywords.
Kevan mentions that the big question is often: how can you create SEO content today that is multipurpose and can be used across other channels?
Focus on investing in areas that have high potential and are currently underutilized. This will help you identify a focused shortlist of high-impact channels to allocate your limited resources and create intentional SEO growth.
