💡 Today’s Insight 💡
🗞 TL;DR - If you’re creating social content for your brand, you know you have to wear many hats. Often, people worry about the visuals or the strategy, but copy is an underappreciated area that remains the foundation of social content. Sprout Social listed their top ten tips for making your social media copywriting more successful.
💡 Insight - Here are Sprout’s top ten tips to making successful social media copy, summarized:
Create post templates - work smarter not harder by turning your best performing posts into reusable templates!
Recycle your content - not everything needs to be new! If it works, run it again.
Lead with a hook - always try to entice your audience to keep reading.
Write with accessibility in mind - use CamelCase for hashtags, avoid all caps, spell out acronyms, and include emojis at the end of your post.
Use active voice - if this is tough for you, use a free tool like Hemingway Editor to detect passive voice.
Experiment with longer posts - don’t over do it, but don’t be afraid of longer posts.
Test CTAs throughout your content - avoid too many sales-driven CTAs in a row & test which phrases generate the most engagement.
Embrace AI - don’t necessarily just copy + paste its responses, but use it to help you generate copy faster and overcome writers’ block.
Analyze your metrics - don’t just ‘post and ghost’! Learn what’s working & why!
Invest in copywriting tools & training - always be growing & improving!
