💡 Today’s Insight 💡
🗞 TL;DR - Streamers, often live gamers or comedians, are growing increasingly popular with Gen Alpha and Gen Z – but they can be riskier than your typical influencer. That said, it’s still a growing area for brands to expand into and Vogue Business recently took a deep dive into the unique opportunity.
💡 Insight - YPulse data shows that nearly a third of 13-39 year olds watch live stream content weekly, with 83% of Gen Zs and Millennials saying they’re more likely to trust someone who feels relatable and “like them.” Streamers, who often broadcast 6-8 hrs/day, five to six times a week from relatable locations like their bedrooms are well positioned to fill this marketing opportunity.
With such long streams, brands have an opportunity to treat streaming relationships like QVC and showcase products live to an audience who can interact in real-time. Streaming platforms also allow for more creative integrations with options like broadcast graphic overlays or interactive integrations throughout a gamer’s play.
But, as stated in the article, 71% of consumers say they expect a brand to take a position on issues that matter to them, so it’s extra important to make sure you’re aligning with creators and streamers who demonstrate your values as a brand. Be proactive, not reactive when choosing who to partner with and how to partner.
