💡 Today’s Insight 💡
🗞 TL;DR - Real Simple, a lifestyle magazine from Dotdash Meredith, partnered with Pinterest to launch the magazine’s first-ever shoppable issue. The physical print issue is filled with editor-recommended products alongside QR codes that brings consumers to a corresponding Pinterest board to make instant purchases.
💡 Insight - This is a really cool partnership to combine the tenured strength of print publications with the innovation of tech. Pinterest is a natural leader in this pack as it mimics the traditional act of putting magazine cuttings & inspiration on a physical pin board. That’s what makes this partnership a no-brainer.
This magazine issue in particular included dozens of products recommended by an in-depth collection of changemakers like celebrity star Busy Philipps. This makes Real Simple and Pinterest a trusted source, and allows them to dissolve the barriers of perception – like Busy is just another friend recommending her own favorite products to you.
Pinterest is also a current favorite of the Gen Z demographic – a cohort that represents over 40% of Pinterest’s users and is its fastest-growing demographic. This allows Real Simple to tap into this younger audience to keep their brand relevant and relatable.
