💡 Today’s Insight 💡
🗞 TL;DR - Ahh, the ever-changing and elusive “algorithm” that all social media managers love to hate. Instagram’s (and every other platform’s) algorithm is built for one reason: to make users stay on the app longer by delivering catered, relevant, and interesting content.
It seems simple enough, but the algorithm changes as often as user intent does, making it tricky to keep up with best practices. Luckily, Later’s blog gave us a deep dive into Instagram’s algorithm in 2025, with tips on “hacking” the system to work in your favor.
💡 Insight - Here are 6 tips to beat Instagram’s algorithm in 2025:
Use Instagram SEO. One of the best ways to keep your account discoverable is by optimizing it for search. Use keywords in your captions and profile, and add subtitles to your reels to enhance your SEO.
Utilize Instagram’s stories stickers. Stickers are one of the easiest ways to boost engagement—and higher engagement means a higher boost from the algorithm. Try it out by adding a poll, emoji slider, or question sticker to your next story.
Write compelling captions. Captions that encourage conversation are a great way to get more likes and comments. If you’re not a wordsmith, no problem; it can be as easy as asking followers to give their two cents, sharing the post with a friend, or clicking the link in your bio.
Optimize for views. While engagement and likes are still important, Instagram’s algorithm is shifting to favor views over other metrics. This means that your profile’s success may depend on how visible it is. Make sure you post often and test out different content like carousels, videos, or live streams to see what works.
Cross-promote your content. Take advantage of Instagram Collabs, a feature that lets users co-author feed posts and reels. The posts are published to both accounts’ audiences, making it a great way to boost your ranking and interact with a new community.
Use analytics to see what’s working. The only way to refine your strategy is to look at the numbers. Figure out your key metrics, and continuously look at the analytics of your posts to see what’s working and what needs improvement.
