Well, Drip made it easy to start subject line testing with 14 research-backed ways to try it out. Weāve listed some of our favorites below.
š” Insight - Name vs. No Name - This one is always a bit risky, depending on how clean your data is. If you do have your subscribersā names, consider trying this one out. Research found that the most effective name type to include is a first and last name.
Long vs. Short - The sweet spot for subject lines is around 6-10 words in most cases. Are you surprised? If so, try out different lengths to see which performs best. But try not to make it over 20 words.
Emojis vs No Emojis - Research found that emails containing an emoji had 56% higher email open rates (but results are conflicting tbh). Itās also a great way to show off your creative side and have a little more fun with your audience.
