🚀 Today’s Deep Dive 🚀

📰 TL;DR - Target announced a new feature to their curbside pick-up service where consumers can add a Starbucks beverage or food to their Drive Up order. The feature has been in test at select Target locations this past spring but will now be available at 1700+ Target locations with Starbucks Cafes by this October.

Similarly, DoorDash recently announced a partnership with Staples to expand their offering of retail products available for delivery to your door. The partnership was strategically planned right in time for back-to-school season with a campaign including a discount offer for classroom essentials via the delivery app. Through this partnership, nearly 1k U.S. Staples locations are available on the app.

💡 Insight - If it just makes sense, make it happen. These partnerships feel so great because they’re no-brainers. Who doesn’t want to be able to get coffee delivered to their car? Starbucks has become synonymous with the in-store Target experience, it’s only natural for them to include the brand in their digital experience.

And where was Staples’ same-day delivery when I was in school?? This makes so much sense and helps avoid those late-night runs for flashcards or posterboards.

Think about the experience of your consumer first. What would make for a frictionless experience on their end? How can you enhance their customer journey? The obvious partnerships are obvious for a reason… make sure you’re taking advantage of them.
