💡 Today’s Insight 💡

🗞 TL;DR - Snapchat recently released a lot of new features that make it pretty appealing. If your brand isn’t on Snapchat and you’ve been wondering if you should still join, Search Engine Journal has the full download on what you should consider before giving it a try. WIth 406 million daily active users and more than 80% of them being 34 or younger, it might be worth considering.

💡 Insight - The big takeaway is that Snapchat isn’t for every brand. If your target isn’t younger consumers, it might be worth investing your time and energy somewhere else. Brands that are best suite to Snapchat are, “those that present a youthful image and tone and prioritize authenticity, “realness,” and creativity.” That doesn’t mean more professional, serious brands can’t find success – you’ll just have to work a little harder.

If you want to create a Snapchat strategy for your business, here’s where to start:

  • Decide what you want to achieve on the platform

  • Understand what your audience wants from you

  • Experiment and be creative - try out Bitmoji, AR lenses, filters, and different types of content

  • Be consistent (just like every other social platform)

  • Keep a good balance - don’t go all-in on self-promotional content

And what does a brand presence on Snapchat actually look like? You can lean into organic content to drive brand engagement and excitement, such as teasers, behind-the-scenes content, UGC, interactive content, and exclusive offers. Or you can try out one of Snapchat’s many advertising mediums such as standard ads, sponsored AR lenses, filters, dynamic ads, or commercials.
