Today’s Insight

📰 TL;DR - If you’ve paid attention to the news at all in the past week, you’ve probably seen headlines about popstar Taylor Swift and NFL Chiefs Tight End Travis Kelce. You may have even seen them alongside the phrase, “seemingly ranch.”

This phrase, stemming from a Swiftie fan account post, is the epitome of internet culture – i.e. it makes very little sense why it went viral but now brands are jumping on the trend… including McDonald’s, the Empire State Building, Heinz, Lays, Walmart, Hidden Valley, Van Leeuwen, and more.

💡 Insight - When everyone’s talking about the same thing, it can often feel like a great opportunity to use the momentum to make your thing go viral. Pause for a second and ask yourself: Does this make sense for my brand to jump on? Or am I just adding to the noise?

The only thing worse than getting left out of a trend is being late or out-of-touch. Don’t make your participation a moment people are cringing at.

You don’t need to take part in every meme or trend. Only take part where and when it makes sense.
