Today’s World Kindness Day! Can you do something unconditionally kind to someone else today?

Today’s Insight

📰 TL;DR - The Baymard Institute notes that the order confirmation page is often a dead end for users. Once customers order, that’s it – they’re done and leave.

But they argue the confirmation page can be yet another touchpoint in increasing user engagement with your brand through simple updates pushing customers deeper into your flow.

💡 Insight - The folks at Baymard Institute note there are six simple ways to get more out of your order confirmation page, including:

  1. Cross-selling - allow users to add deals to their cart without having to resubmit payment data, creating a sense of urgency

  2. Newsletter sign-up - don’t distract users during checkout, save this for after confirmation & make it better with pre-filled fields

  3. Account creation - simplify the checkout process and add additional space for promoting the benefits

  4. Informational resources - can include itinerary, delivery details, guides, how-tos… anything to make the user feel more confident

  5. Apps and other promotions - could be social media details as well, but again, simplify checkout & don’t distract users

  6. Surveys - capture what users are thinking right in the moment of purchase, but try to keep the time requirement minimal
