Today’s Growth Tip
TikTok influencer Alix Earle (with a whopping 5.3M followers) recently traveled to Italy with her 11 friends (also of large followings). Upon arriving, they found out their rental house didn’t actually exist and posted their frustrations on TikTok. Airbnb, who wasn’t responsible for the situation, jumped into the comments section and provided them with a villa overlooking the ocean – which was then extensively posted about by Earle and her fellow creators.
Make it yours: Social listening, aka the act of monitoring conversations on the internet that may pertain to your brand/audience, is a simple yet highly effective way to get yourself into the public eye. Give it a try by doing a simple search on Twitter for keywords related to your brand – alternatively, many social media management platforms have tools available just for this!

Another one bites the dust. Turns out, Stories aren’t really wanted anywhere but Instagram and Snapchat. Given the low usage of the option, YouTube is cutting the feature starting June 26.
Takeaway: Even YouTube itself is admitting when enough is enough. They suggest users focus on Shorts and Community Posts (YouTube’s latest functionality) to drive higher engagement and interaction, so take note when reevaluating your YouTube strategy!
The chatbot could “radically change search and navigation” in the app if TikTok ends up releasing it widely. While the test is currently only available in the Philippines as a limited experiment, the feature would represent TikTok’s effort in competing against Snap’s My AI bot and other wider search chatbots.
Takeaway: It’s apparently still unclear what AI model Tako is being run on, but if it’s as powerful, it could be a strong competitor against other chatbots simply for TikTok’s prominence as a search engine for younger generations. And don’t be surprised if AI chatbot marketing follows… thanks to Bing Chat revolutionizing AI ad experiences.
