🗞 TL;DR - Be honest… when was the last time you audited your Google Ads campaigns? It’s one of those things that we sometimes forget when it’s working. However, regular check-in audits can be deeply beneficial to help you get a high-level picture of your account and understand where you should focus your efforts.

💡 Insight - Here are the top 7 areas Search Engine Land recommends evaluating:

  1. Proper conversion tracking - Do you trust your conversion data?

  2. Impression share value - aka the percentage of times your ad was shown compared to how often it could have been displayed

  3. Campaign settings consistency - check if any of the following settings are different across campaigns (and if they should be): language, location, networks, time of day, bid strategy type

  4. Match type usage - examine the effectiveness of each match type to determine if a match type needs to be removed

  5. Ad group organization - aka every ad combination should describe every keyword in the ad group
