💡 Today’s Insight 💡
🗞 TL;DR - AI has majorly changed the content creation game. With tools like ChatGPT and DALL-E, marketers are able to create more content at rapid speed with limited resources. But SEO experts worry that chasing trends and over-relying on AI to create content may lead to negative consequences in the long-term…
💡 Insight - Generative AI is great because it can easily create high-ranking, cohesive content for you – whether text or visual. But, SEO experts warn, these large language models often are just trend-chasing based on your queries. While you might benefit from their keyword-driven content, following their strategy blindly may come back to bite you.
As Amanda King of Search Engine Land cautions against following these generic, competitor-based strategies. She says, “Following trends this way often leads to action without planning, neglecting how it fits into your marketing mix, whether your ideal clients spend time there, and other important considerations for business strategy and tactics.”
Not only might you risk integrating a strategy that doesn’t make sense for your brand, but keep in mind that LLMs are biased based on our queries. They don’t necessarily want your content to perform the best – like any employee or creator writing this content would – they just want to provide the best answer to your query. This can lead to inaccurate, biased, and unoriginal content.
So, while LLMs and Gen-AI tools are a great resource for content creation, remember that most of the magic lies when you use your human lens to work alongside the tech creation.
