1 - Report: 2023 State Of Influencer Earnings

đź“° TL;DR - One of the leading Influencer marketing platforms Izea released its annual report on Influencer earnings. This year’s report analyzed more than $70m of Influencers’ earnings and our biggest takeaways were:

  1. Influencers with less than 200k followers hit new all-time earnings highs but earnings for those with larger audiences were flat or saw year-over-year declines for last 7 years

  2. The average cost of a Tik Tok shoutout regardless of follower count was $2,741 while the average cost of Instagram Story content was $2,784

  3. In 2022 the average cost of a Pinterest post was $1,450 surprisingly costing more than a Facebook or Instagram static post

  4. Sponsored tweets came in just behind YouTube in 2022 with an average cost of $1,643 per twitter shoutout

🚀 Use This Engagement Trigger To 3X Your Open Rates

We were just introduced to a new technology that enables you to send more engagement triggers to your list.

This tool creates a virtuous cycle that boosts your reputation, deliverability, sender scores, and IP health and most importantly, your open rates — all at once.

Brands leveraging this tech are tripling, and sometimes even quintupling their open rate.

➡️ This free guide shows you how to do that…

3 - Google’s Answer To ChatGPT Is Here!

đź“° TL;DR - It’s called “Bard” and it was introduced this week, just two weeks after Microsoft announced it’s investing billions into ChatGPT’s parent company OpenAI. It looks and functions very similar to the now infamous ChatGPT with a few more bells and whistles we appreciate like a thumbs up and thumbs down button to give feedback on the AI’s output.

đź’ˇ Insight - As mentioned countless times before, we are bullish on AI and believe AI will end up making marketers better at their job just like how autopilot on planes makes a pilot better at their job.

We will keep you up to date on these two AI heavyweights’ battle!

4 - A Giant 56% Of Starbucks Sales Come From Rewards Members

đź“° TL;DR - Starbucks Rewards has been in the news a lot lately for two reasons. First, their now famous customer loyalty program just hit 30.4 million active users which means nearly 1 in every 8 American adults are loyal Starbucks Rewards members. Second, a giant 56% of all Starbucks sales come from Rewards members who are now upset that some of the menu items will double in price next month meaning their Rewards points will mean less.

đź’ˇ Insight - Starbucks Rewards is one of those magic marketing and customer loyalty programs that has consistently delivered since its founding (in 2016). Getting your morning coffee is already a major habit for most people so giving customers just another reason to come every day is giving Starbucks a compounding ROI.

🙏🏼 Pro Tip - We see most brands offer a boring 10% off but Starbucks takes it to another level with line-skipping privileges, bonus points days, and birthday treats! Maybe spend 30 minutes today figuring out how you can revamp your customer loyalty program to make it more fun and motivating?

5 - Tik Tok’s Shadow Banning Process

đź“° TL;DR - Have you ever noticed your Tik Tok account sometimes has wayyyyyyy fewer views in a given week than the weeks prior? Then they magically go back up the next week? You were likely the victim of a Tik Tok shadow ban! Some interesting new reporting found that these shadow bands happen for one of 4 reasons:

  1. Posting adult content - Tik Tok does not nudity or pornography or sexually explicit content on its platform (obviously)

  2. Bullying or Harassment - Because the platform is really big on inclusivity they take hateful behavior very seriously

  3. Copyright Infringement - Tik Tok has a zero-tolerance policy for publishing other’s copyrighted content so refrain from posting any movie clips or songs you don’t have the right to

  4. By Accident - The most common one from what we have seen! They rely on automated moderation to see if all videos on the platform violate their Community Guidelines so the report don’t always get it right

đź’ˇ Insight - If your videos won’t upload or they are stuck in the “processing” phase for a while… This new report walked through how to get your account un-shadow-Banned. Follow these steps:

  1. Delete your flagged content or anything stuck in “processing” limbo

  2. Check their Community Guidelines to see exactly how your content might have tripped up their system

  3. Don’t start posting 10X more! Lots of users take a decrease in views as a sign they need to start posting a bunch more but this is an even bigger red flag to Tik Tok
