Monday's news, tips, & tools you need to know

1 - Instagram Is Testing A “Memories” Feature To Re-Ignite User Engagement

đź“° TL;DR - Posting on Instagram can be exhausting right? Especially since a lot of us have been posting pictures of our food, dogs, and daily to Instagram for more than a decade now. Well with this new feature and a few other ones Instagram has introduced lately, it’s pretty clear that the average post count per week or month is not as high as it used to be! Hence why Instagram is starting to remind all of its users of their posts from the past hoping they reshare their “memories” because nostalgia is a powerful thing!

đź’ˇ Insight - The trend of users shifting from Instagram consumer/creators to just Instagram consumers might be a great thing for us marketers! It means there will be less posts on the Instagram feed competing for eyeballs. Perhaps we all should double down on our Instagram Instagram content creation? The platform do continue to show staying power as it is still the main place most of mainstream society participates in culture. We are long Instagram!

🤯 Increase Your Return On Ad Spend By 2.27X

DTC brand Twillory increased their ROAS by 2.27X once they identified a huge lift in performance when they put customer reviews front and center on DPA ad creative.

How did they possibly do this? With Marpipe's Enriched Catalogs.

You see, Marpipe is like a design platform for marketers - all you need to do is upload your product catalog and you can transform it into beautiful ad creative in minutes (yes, you can absolutely put reviews front and center on your DPA ads). Then... scale it!

3 - Uber Eats Unveils Big Ad Platform Yesterday

đź“° TL;DR - If you ordered some wings or pizza yesterday for the big game, you might have noticed an ad pop-up the moment you hit place my order! Uber Eats made it’s new “post-checkout ads” placement inside the Uber Eats app live yesterday just in time for the big game! To our surprise, Uber’s ad business recently exceeded a $500m annual run rate as more consumers get back to their ride-hailing habits post-pandemic. Why shouldn’t the Uber Eats app get in on all of the fun?

đź’ˇ Insight - We are big fans of these “alt” ad platforms! Unique to advertising with Uber is that they provide targeting by location and zip, specific events, time of day the ads run, and so much more… We are curious what the CTRs & CPCs would be for some of their placements. Something to look into for sure!

4 - How Stores Leave Money On The Table

đź“° TL;DR - One of our favorite e-commerce twitter follows Phil Rivers dropped an amazing thread over the weekend covering 7 different various ways e-commerce brands leave money on the table. A few of our favorites included:

  1. You gotta get subscribers to convert quickly! 85% of all new email subscribers to e-commerce brands’ lists convert within 14 days of giving you their email. After that, they will likely never purchase so ask for a purchase ASAP.

  2. Consistency is the name of the game! Of course, flows are great but yous should be sending 2 to 4 emails in various promotional or brand campaigns every week! Yes, you read that right.

  3. Benchmarking… an effective e-mail marketing strategy should drive 40% of any e-commerce brand’s revenue so if you aren’t hitting that number, your e-mail flows need work!
