💡 Insight - Features like these are where AI can truly be powerful. This feels like a major help for job seekers or even early career professionals who might need an extra hand putting their best selves forward on LinkedIn. 🚫 Roblox Bans Advertising For Children Under 13

📰 TL;DR - Gaming platform Roblox has announced that they’ll no longer allow ads aimed at children under 13. This announcement comes as part of a new effort to roll out a set of rules that clearly define and regulate promotions from developers within their platform. Roblox is still in the beta stages of making their official ad server available to brands, but ad sales currently come from third-party deals with developers and content constructed by brands themselves.

💡 Insight - In the past, Roblox has reported that around half of their 58.5 million users are under the age of 13… so, yeah, this move has big impact. But as a gut reaction, advertising to children on a gaming platform must come with risks – it’s fair for Roblox to put in guardrails. Children are super impressionable and we’re already seeing effects of how tech is changing childrens’ mental health. It’s a good reminder that edgy, outside-the-box marketing is cool, but we should never lose sight of humane common sense.

🥞 Denny’s Is Serving AR Tech and Innovation

📰 TL;DR - Denny’s (the diner chain you’ve probably only been to on a road trip or at 2am) recently invested over $25 million as part of their “It’s Diner Time” overhaul. The investment includes upgrades and improvements to kitchen equipment, developing new food offerings, increasing efficiency, decreasing food waste, and a new menu – including augmented reality features including a virtual menu tour and access to exclusive deals.

💡 Insight - Bet you didn’t think you’d hear this chain restaurant name anytime soon… but here’s the interesting part of this story: you can teach an old dog new tricks. Denny’s epitomizes American diner comfort, and they’re not losing that by rebranding into something they’re not. Instead, they’re bringing what already works so well for them into 2023. Self-awareness as a brand is important, especially when you’ve got such a long-time following. It’s easy to jump into the newest, shiniest strategy, but taking the time to hone in on what really works just for them… that’s a vital takeaway
