Today’s Insight

📰 TL;DR - Google just released their top 100 search results of trending gifts this year. The simple list includes some hyper-specific brand terms, but also more generic terms like “engravable necklace” or “smartphones.”

Additionally, Google includes fun little analytics tidbits like how the query “how to style a beanie” peaks every winter.

💡 Insight - Use this list as a starting point for any upcoming SEO activities you have planned. Could a simple tweak, like including one of these relevant terms, help prioritize your page in these results? It certainly can’t hurt.

Study this list to keep an eye out for related products or brands. Dive into what they’re doing. Instead of jumping in headfirst into trying to outrank them, study your competitors and learn what their special edge is.

Don’t feel like you have to take immediate action on your competitor research. While the goal is to use this knowledge to fuel your next campaign (maybe even for holiday), this can also help you decide which direction your brand should be headed in long-term. Knowing when to use this information strategically is just as beneficial.
