Is now finally the right time to tap into Snapchat? They just hit record growth numbers in India & The UK

  • Two coincidental reports within 24 hours make a really compelling case that now might finally be the time to tap into Snapchat if you are trying to reach a global audience. They just hit 200 million active users in India (15% of the total population) and 21 million active users in The UK 31% of the total population). Not to mention Snapchat is now actively used by 75% of all 13 to 34-year-olds in The UK.

  • Make it yours: If you are trying to reach a global audience, you can’t ignore Snapchat at this point. Their cost to advertise is a fraction of what Facebook & Google charge. Their engagement numbers are off the charts. And they are growing like crazy. Great marketers don’t ignore trends and Snapchat trending globally!

  • As we have reported a few times, Meta is working to introduce a twitter like text-based app that will be integrated with Instagram. Well, we found out yesterday that Meta has been approaching marketing agencies asking if any of their celeb relationships would be interested in getting early access to the platform. And it turns out Meta has been met with a big fat “not yet” from most of the agencies and celebs they have been courting. We’ll take their invites!

  • Takeaway: From everyone’s favorite social platform and ad network to most-hated-on big tech company of all time, Facebook is going to have a tough road ahead when it comes to buying any competitors or launching their own products. Many of the agencies and celebs who were offered access reportedly declined due to questions of privacy, data sharing, and monetization.

  • Everyone has been busy talking about Tik Tok SEO and ignoring Instagram SEO. I can’t tell you how many times I have asked a friend to dinner and when I tell them where I wanna meet up they say “let me check Instagram” or when my fiancé tells someone about a cool up-and-coming fashion brand they say “let me check Instagram” instead of their website… Well, Instagram just released search feed ad placements in its Marketing API!

  • Takeaway: The exact features are a bit unknown and even when you google “how to run instagram search ads” there is absolutely nothing on the first page showing you how to do it… We would expect some sort of walk through on how to do it given it was announced in March natively on the platform, and via it’s API today… But we are bullish and excited about this potential game-changing ad placement!
