Pinterest is joining the Inspired Internet Pledge to make the internet a safer and healthier place for young people

• The pledge was created by the Digital Wellness Lab at Boston Children’s Hospital as a call to action for tech companies and the digital ecosystem following reports from the CDC of the mental health risk social media poses to people, especially teens.

• Takeaway: As platforms like TikTok and Meta are being blamed for the teen health crisis for their addiction-fueling design and algorithms, this is a smart PR move for Pinterest if nothing else. Pinterest has long been associated with positive content and less vitriol than the typical social network, which goes to show that leaning into your public persona may not be such a bad thing.

Ad agencies will replace 7.5% of jobs with generative AI by 2030, according to new Forrester research

• Creative jobs may be spared, as the report found that admin roles were the most threatened by AI at 28% predicted job losses followed by 22% of sales roles and 18% of market research roles. According to report, “the more creative the role, the less likely that it can be replaced by automation.”

• Takeaway: AI is powerful but the ability for humans to think originally, creatively, and with a growth mindset is something that’s hard to automate. That said, don’t go abandoning those less creative teams just yet. If there’s one thing we’ve learned about AI, it’s that we can’t rely too heavily on it just yet…
