🚀 Today’s Deep Dive 🚀

📰 TL;DR - For a generation who hates making phone calls, we certainly love voice notes. A recent poll found that 30% of respondents between 18-29 years old say they communicate via voice note “weekly, daily or multiple times a day” while WhatsApp reported last year users sent 7 billion voice messages on the app.

And in case you’re confused, voice notes are a feature on iMessage, WhatsApp, and many other messaging providers that allows users to record an audio message to send to a recipient in lieu of a text message. Frequent voice noters claim ease of use and nuance/tone as main reasons of using the feature over the traditional text.

💡 Insight - You could be one of the first brands to maximize this popular feature. It’s not often that trends haven’t been taken over by brands entirely. But these are still the early days of voice notes, and you should absolutely take advantage of their popularity.

How could a brand jump onto voice notes? Imagine sending a voice note to every new follower your brand gets on Instagram. A simple, “hey, thanks for following and let us know if you have any questions!” could help you easily stand out among the competition. What other brand would take the minute to record something specifically for one customer??

Use voice notes to take your audience interactions to the next level. You won’t find many examples of brands doing this yet, but that’s the amazing part: you get to be the trailblazer to take this trend to the next level.
